Snowshoe Hike in the Ragunda Valley
Snowshoes and poles are available for rent.
Nature in the Ragunda Valley is beautiful all year round, and we love exploring the outdoors in every season. We head out on snowshoe hikes in winter through snowy forests and peaceful landscapes.
Sometimes we start from Hammarstrand Camping, and other times we drive a short distance by car, for example, to the top of the ski slope, where several scenic snowshoeing trails begin (always walk beside the cross-country ski track, not on it). Other favorite routes include Högforsen and the old suspension bridge, my personal favorite. We take sausages and bread for a cozy picnic in the wild. If you're quiet, you might even spot some wildlife!
Guided Snowshoe Hike to the Old Suspension Bridge
A sporty winter experience to the historic Old Suspension Bridge. Our guide will take you along a snowy trail lined with tall, snow-covered trees — a magical route through the winter forest.
At the destination, you’ll enjoy a break in a rustic log shelter with freshly brewed coffee over the fire and an optional wilderness lunch. Our guide will share stories about the Indalsälven River and the region's unique landscape, wildlife, and natural history.

Guided Snowshoe Hike to the Hammarstrand Letters
Join our guide on a snowshoe trek through deep snow to the top of the mountain where the Hammarstrand Letters stand. At the summit, you'll take a well-earned break in a mountain hut to enjoy a delicious hot soup and recharge while enjoying the breathtaking panoramic views.
After a warm meal and rest, we snowshoe back to the cars.

Guided Snowshoe Hike to the Old Fire Tower
Come with our guide to one of the best viewpoints in the Ragunda Valley. On this snowshoe hike, you'll walk through a quiet, snowy forest to an old fire watchtower once used to spot forest fires.
If the weather is calm, you can climb to the top and enjoy a stunning view over the valley and the surrounding wilderness.
