Discover Nämforsens Hällristningsmuseum – Prehistoric Rock Art
Nämforsens Hällristningsmuseum offers stunning views of the Ångermanälven River and showcases the exhibitions "Photos of the Hunter Stone Age" about rock carvings and engravings, and "People by the Rapids" featuring artifacts from settlements, pits, climate, land uplifting, and how archaeologists can learn about life in the Stone Age.
The museum's displays are wood carvings, arrowheads, pottery, and chisels that have not been painted. The excavations on the south side of the river took place in 1944, and the settlement remains one of the richest in Norrland. The museum also has a popular children's corner with newly created objects based on prehistoric models, which visitors of all ages can look at and touch. There is a café and a small gift shop.
